About Birla Family Businesses
(i) Yash Birla Group:
Mr. Yashovardhan Birla is the chairman of Yash Birla Group. The group has 20 companies with the major ones being Birla Cotsyn (India) ltd, Birla Power Solutions, Zenith Birla (India) ltd, Birla Pacific Medspa ltd among others. In June 2013, the group was declared a NPA account for non payment of dues. Further in 2016, UCO bank also published a notice indicating Birla as defaulter. Then, on 16 June 2019, he was declared wilful defaulter by the bank with outstanding dues of over 67 crores.
(ii) MP Birla Group:
Birla Corporation Ltd is the flagship company of the group. The group includes Universal Cables Ltd, Vindhya Telelinks Ltd, Birla Cables Ltd, Birla Furukawa Fibre Optics Pvt Ltd & Hindustan Gum & Chemicals Ltd. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Lodha is the chairman of the group.
(iii) Sidharth Birla Group:
Mr. Sidharth Kumar Birla is the chairman for Digjam Ltd. Also, he is the chairman at IntelliPro Finance Pvt Ltd & Executive chairman for Xpro India Ltd. In Oct 2018, Digjam Ltd stopped manufacturing in view of extremely tight liquidity & working capital position. Now, the company is under Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP).
(iv) Aditya Birla Group:
Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla is the chairman of the group. The group is into several businesses including carbon black, cement, fashion, telecom, metals, financial services, chemicals, mining.
(v) BK Birla Group:
The group’s main companies are Kesoram Industries, Century Textiles and Industries, Century Enka, Mangalam Cement, and ECE Industries.
(vi) CK Birla Group:
The Group includes brands such as Orient Electric, NBC Bearings, Aerocon & Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
